Born into a theatrical family, David has worked in theatres across the country. Before joining North Coast Rep in 2003 he served as Artistic Director for the Los Angeles Repertory Company and the Arizona Jewish Theatre Company (AJTC). A veteran of over 150 theatrical productions, directorial favorites include:

Favorite roles as an actor include title roles in Hamlet at Los Angeles Theatre Center and Los Angeles Repertory Company; Richard III at California Shakespeare Festival; Einstein in Picasso at the Lapin Agile at Laguna Playhouse; Calisto in The Illusion and Harker in Dracula at the Arizona Theatre Company; Jonathan in Sight Unseen at North Coast Rep and Portland Repertory Theatre; Stanley in Broadway Bound at Alaska Repertory Theatre and Scoop in the Heidi Chronicles and John in A Life In The Theatre at Gaslamp Quarter Theatre.
Film and television credits include over three dozen roles including Star Trek IV, The Practice, Foul Play, Christine Cromwell, Renegade, Eight is Enough, and General Hospital. David has also been guest faculty for numerous universities including California State Northridge, Cal Arts, and Shakespeare workshops privately. David lives with his beautiful wife Denise and their amazing sons Jamie and Will.
In January of 2007, Gaidi Finnie took on the new role of North Coast Rep's Business Manager and, in September 2008, he was made the Managing Director. He came to North Coast Rep following nine years at the Museum of Photographic Art, first as their Business Manager and then as the Assistant Director. Gaidi's interest in theatre dates back to his time in college when he received his B.A. in Theatre and then changed course and achieved a degree in law.
Matt Thompson has over ten years of teaching experience. Most recently he has taught for The La Jolla Playhouse’s Education Outreach Program, where he facilitated such curriculums as Greek and Shakespeare Studies, Playwriting, Novel Adaptation, Improvisation Workshop, Character Building, and Acting Styles. Matt has also taught a variety of theatrical classes for young people through Mackerstar Entertainment, The Monart School of Art, and The Actor’s Workshop Studies. He has also been a teacher for the San Diego and Los Angeles public school systems. For several years he was a comedy coach instructing students in sketch comedy and improvisation at The Second City and The Comedy Store.
Matt has directed over thirty productions, most recently, “Hansel & Gretel,” here at North Coast Rep. Also a playwright, his plays for young people have been published through Brooklyn, Dramatic, and Heuer Publishing respectively. You may recognize Matt from various roles he has played on stage, right here at North Coast Repertory Theatre.
